I interviewed Shan Hanif, the CEO fo $100M agency Genflow.
He’s built 70 7 figures businesses.
We covered so much in this pod, including:
How Shan went from 0-$100K then to $100M.
The secrets behind your favourite creators products.
The TRUTH behind how Neutonic (drink brand) actually started.
This is the podcast I wish I had 3 years ago. Not one to miss. It will be live tomorrow!
Here are 15 notes I made listening to the episode back:
Find the white space in the market.
Look at data, act on data, look at data, act on data. You’ll sell lots.
Curiosity is his best trait. Even after $100M, Shan is still learning daily.
Cold outreach doesn’t work. Do hot outreach instead. That’s how you stand out and sign your first client. We’ve actually used this first hand at Kurogo, 100% works.
Do what no one else is willing to do (e.g. Shan flew to the US to pitch the Kardashians then flew back). Your competitors aren’t willing to do the harder things.
Target people similar to your clients. Go to the same industry in a different country. Or someone who’s not a direct competitors in the same industry.
Everything you’re second guessing you should have done by now.
You attract people at your standard. Want A Players? Be one. Want top talent? Do cool shit.
High performers don’t chase roles. In an interview true high performers will ask questions like ‘what’s the coolest project you’ll think I’ll be able to work on?’ not ‘what do the progression opportunities look like?’. The latter is there for a job, the former is there for this job.
You are the culture.
Don’t make someone a manager because ‘they’re the best’. Managing and doing are different skills. It also doesn’t make someone better or worse than you if they’re your manager.
Don’t let people put shoes on your sofa. This is the most important culture advice you’ll hear today.
Business: People want stuff. Make it.
Every business should sell a digital product.
Shan does work he doesn’t get paid for now bc he knows he could get paid for it big time later.

ps. I’m looking for a personal brand manager
I’m looking for a personal brand manager to help me take my personal brand to the next level. I want someone who knows social content inside out and has an eye for design and great copy. Ideally they’ll be someone who already follows my work, so maybe they’re a Success Clues listener/subscriber.
If being the person behind a $10M personal brand in the next 5 years sounds cool to you, shoot me a DM or email to [email protected] and I’ll send you the full role spec.
This is paid, full time and UK based.
