Fix your mind, fix your business.

Your business is a reflection of you

Someone told me a few years ago that your business is always a reflection of you.

It’s harsh, but true.

Suddenly you realise that everything in your business (and life) that isn’t where you want it to be is because you lack the skill, knowledge or mindset.

But it’s also empowering.

Because you also now realise that everything in your life is in your hands, no one else’s.

All of the most successful people I know subscribe to this belief system and take radical responsibility for everything in their lives.

Since then I’ve made hundreds on mini-mindset shifts. Here I’ll share 9 of the biggest that I wish I made 5 years ago when I started my business.

I wish I knew this when I was 20

9 crucial mindset shifts to increase your earning potential

1. Learn how to get stuff done (quickly).

Most people just point out problems.
The best person in any business finds solutions.
See opportunities where others see roadblocks.

2. Do the extras.

Most of your competition is doing the bare minimum.
Your job? Over-deliver. Do the extra rep. Go one step further.
You’ll be shocked at how much further it gets you.

3. Cut out negative influences.

My business went from £300/m to £20,000/m in 18 months when I:

• Stopped drinking.
• Deleted Instagram.
• Ignored the news.

I’m not saying quit them forever, just learn to control them.

4. Make failure and rejection your best friends.

They’re impossible to avoid anyway.
So stop running from them.
Learn from them, and use them as fuel to get better.

5. Detach from outcomes.

Commit to the process.
Daily actions. Consistent effort. Discipline.
The results will follow.

6. Stop saying “I can’t” before even trying.

What you say dictates your outcome.
Replace “I can’t” with “How can I?”
Flip your mental switch.

7. Stop complaining about things you can’t change.

Every second you waste complaining,
is a second you could spend improving your situation.
Focus on what you can control.

8. Honour your commitments.

Your whole reputation is literally built on trust.
Don’t find excuses, find the time.
Do what you say you’ll do.

9. Take ownership of your time.

How you spend your time reflects what matters to you.
And you always have a choice. Use it intentionally.
If you choose to spend 1 hour scrolling, you’re valuing that over been 1 hour closer to your goal.

Quick Actionable Tip

Who Not How

Stop thinking ‘How can I xyz’.
Start thinking ‘Who can xyz’

Write down all your goals.

Now write down the name of a person next to them who can help you achieve them (either by teaching you or doing it for you).
